Kinetic studies of the reactions of the nucleophiles HO -, SO 3 2 -, and N 3 - with N -methyl- N -nitroso- p -toluenesulfonamide (MNTS) bound to sodium dodecyl sulfate micelles, and of HO - with 1,2-chloroethyl-3-cyclohexyl-1-nitrosourea (CCNU) in the same medium, showed that for the MNTS/N 3 - and CCNU/HO - reactions (but not the others) the distribution of anion between the aqueous phase and the aquo−micellar interface is nontrivial and must be taken into account in applying the pseudophase model of micellar media. A satisfactory distribution was calculated by numerical solution of the Poisson−Boltzmann equation for the cell model of micellar media.
