We have performed positron-annihilation lifetime measurements of the quasicrystalline-phase Al₆₈{Mn}₂₀Si₄{Ru}₈and the α-phase{Al}72.5Mn17.5{Si}₁₀$. It is suggested that the volume size of the vacant center of the Mackay icosahedron in the quasicrystalline phase is reduced or those centers are occupied with atoms such as manganese.
