Neutron diffraction with isotopic substitution on copper and lithium is used to obtain structure information in the T2-icosahedral AlCuLi phase. Partial pair correlation functions are then determined and compared to those deduced from the known structure of the related cubic R-phase. Similarities and differences in short range order of the two compounds are suggested.
