SUMMARYA new species, Mortierella indohii, produces partially invested zygospores and stylospores (aerial, stalked, spiny chlamydospores). It appears closely related to M. polycephala. A second species, M. humihs, always has naked zygospores and spiny sporangioles with a firmly attached wall. It is interfertile with M. marburgensis which sometimes has solitary sporangiospores; but these are covered by a loose and wrinkled wall. Mortierella verticillata is reduced to synonymy with M. marburgensis. Stylospores and sporangioles were studied with the scanning electron microscope.
