Drilling, band sowing, broadcast sowing, and precision drilling are dealt with. The uniformity of the sowing depth is described by its standard deviation. It is shown that the field emergence of small grains under average German conditions can be improved distinctly by seeding methods with a small standard deviation of the mean seeding depth.
