The grain growth of donor‐doped BaTiO 3 prepared from BaTiO 3 powders with different initial specific surface areas was studied. Results show that a higher initial surface area and, consequently, a smaller critical grain size at the phase boundary drastically increase the critical amount of donor dopant, causing the grain size anomaly during sintering.
