Static and dynamic strain aging experiments are performed on the interstitial solid solution Ni (0.55% C) to discriminate between two models recently proposed in the literature, the “dislocation—solute interaction” (DSI) and the “dislocation—dislocation interaction” (DDI) model. The results can, for the major part, be described in terms of the first model and in some respects clearly disagree with the second.
