Haemorrhagic disease of the newborn (HDN) is a blood coagulation disorder due to a deficiency of vitamin K. Last year, the British Paediatric Association recommended that Vitamin K be given orally to all infants on the day of birth. However, research has not yet been completed, and there is evidence that vitamin K increases the risk of childhood cancer.
