An apparent relationship between congenital malformations and some embryonal tumors of parenchymal organs has been observed. Other embryonal tumors have not been associated with such defects. Of 20 children with soft tissue sarcomas reviewed, four had multiple and significant anomalies, and four others had single defects. No conclusions can be reached from this series, but the question of similar occurrence in larger series is raised, along with the suggestion of a similar or related basis for neoplasia and anomalies.
