RESISTANCE to airflow of grain sorghum was determined in the airflow rate range of 0.05 to 0.30 m3/s-m2 by measuring pressure drops across grain bed depths of 150 to 1200 mm. Sorghum at moisture levels of 16.5%, 18.5%, and 23% wet basis was used. The foreign matter initially present in the sorghum was determined to be three percent. The resistance to airflow increased with increasing airflow rate and bed depth and with decreasing moisture content. The pressure drop was observed to increase more rapidly with increasing air velocities than with increasing bed depths.
