Nineteen species of blackflies from Thailand are discussed, including seven new species and five newly-recorded ones. They all belong to the genus Simulium Latreille s.l. and are placed in the subgenera Eusimulium Roubaud (three species), Gomphostilbia Enderlein (three species), Himalayum Lewis (one species) and Simulium Latreille s.str. (12 species). Among the known species, S. nigrogilvum is resurrected, being distinguished from S. indicum, and the previous distribution record of the Malayan species, S. hackeri, from Thailand is recognized as an error due to misidentification. Descriptions for all new species and redescription for S. nigrogilvum are presented. Keys to species are given for all known stages, and the taxonomic affinities with related species within a species-group are discussed for each species.
