Rare earth phosphors are core materials for white LEDs (WLEDs), enabling color conversion. However, traditional types suffer from poor optical tunability and difficult processing. Polymer-bonded variants overcome these limitations, offering high fluorescence efficiency, stability, and dispersibility, combining polymer flexibility with rare earth traits. This review covers coordination groups, luminescent colors, and functional features of bonded polymers, analyzing different groups' effects on performance. It summarizes polymer-induced functional enhancements and discusses development prospects.
