First Announcement and Call for PapersThe results of the first organized International Colloquium on the Microbiology of Poecilothermic Animals, held in Paris in 1989, clearly demonstrated the high standard of the extensive research being carried out throughout the world on the microbiology of these animals and their decisive role in the community metabolism of the biosphere.Since there are many conceptually, as well as methodologically, common problems, goals and tasks which can very closely join together all of the workers who study the interrelationships among these creatures, the participants of the first Colloquium have decided to continue with this personal exchange of exFerience. The Second International Colloquium will be held in Budapest in 1991, and we invite you to this meeting for active participation. PROGRAMMEThe programme covers studies on the interrelationships among poecilothermic animals: Arthropods; Molluscs; Worms; Fishes; Reptilians; and bacteria, fungi, yeasts or protozoa, involving symbiosis, parasitism, protocooperation, etc. Also to be presented are the results of studies on biochemical activities, ecology and taxonomy of intestinal microorganisms housed by poecilotherms, the evolution of the pathogenicity and the host-microbe interrelationships, etc.
