Influence of confined space of silicon nanopores on the structure, thermal motion and phase transitions of 1-octadecene crystals was studied by powder XRD, FTIR and thermophysical methods. Decrease of the melting temperature as well as solid phase transitions temperatures due to confinement effect was detected. Additionally the phase transition in the near-surface layer of confined 1-octadecene was found. The molecular thermal motion in this system was interpreted in accordance with the topological solitons model.Shortened version of the title: Structure and thermal motion of 1-octadecene, confined in the pores of porous silicon.
