Part 1 of the Special Issue [l]contained papers describing the application of database, smart card and telemedicine systems in diabetes care, and reported on the use of algorithms and other I T prototypes for computer-assisted clinical decision support.In this volume trilogies of papers are presented on the use of models for therapy planning, and the application of computers for diabetes education.
