Determination of Nutrient Values for Commercial Amino Acids

Commercially available essential amino acids are primarily utilized in poultry feeds to meet a targeted amino acid requirement. Nutritionally, there are additional benefits such as providing nitrogen (i.e., protein) and energy. Therefore, using proper formulation matrix value for the added amino acids will be important. Key nutrient values N%, CP (N % × 6.25), N-corrected apparent ME (AMEn) and net energy (NE) for 100% pure amino acids have been reviewed and proposed for use in feed formulation.
