Among patients with cancer, and particularly in the inpatient setting, patients with hematological malignancies are exposed to more complex medication regimens resulting from intensive supportive care combining chemotherapeutic, immunosuppressive, and antimicrobial agents and longer length of stay. Moreover, with increasing age, the prevalence of comorbidities with chronic medicationuse increases the medication burden. Hence, hospitalized older patients with hematological malignancies may represent a particularly relevant population for investigating longitudinal medication trajectories.
