Library automation has become an important component of academic library management by improving routine operations and information services. This study examines the use of SOUL software in academic libraries affiliated with Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University in Aurangabad. Using a descriptive survey method, questionnaires were distributed to librarians at 107 colleges, and 73 responses were received. The study examines the extent of automation, automated activities, technological infrastructure, SOUL modules, maintenance, operational problems and training requirements. The findings show that 66 libraries reported automation, with 29 completely automated, 38 partially automated and six at the initial stage. Overall, SOUL provides an integrated platform for library automation, although its effective utilisation requires adequate infrastructure, technical support, software improvement and regular staff training.
