The White Paper defines the full engineering program; later color papers develop the successive technical frontiers. Vary how a system can know, then measure what becomes knowable. Alienficial Syntelligence is proposed as an intelligence-engineering program for constructing, comparing, translating, developing, and eventually integrating deliberately differentiated cognitive architectures. Contemporary artificial intelligence largely asks how capable an artificial system can become within a family of familiar representational and optimization structures. The Alienficial program adds another experimental variable: the organization of cognition itself. Its foundational experiment holds a problem-world and major resource conditions approximately fixed while varying cognitive architecture, then measures whether the resulting systems differ reproducibly in representation, transformation, inference, compression, causal discovery, invariant recovery, or validated problem solving. The program does not assume that radically alien artificial minds already exist, nor that unfamiliar outputs demonstrate unfamiliar cognition. Instead, cognitive alterity must be engineered and then earned experimentally. The initial threshold is stable between-architecture difference beyond within-architecture variation. Stronger thresholds require functional consequence, independent validation, translation without forced assimilation, architecture-conditioned cognitive parallax, developmental reclosure, and controlled syntelligent gain. These thresholds form a six-paper Rainbow Engineering Program: White foundations, Grey architecture, Gold experiment, Blue translation, Indigo development, and Violet syntelligence. The White Paper is therefore a program specification rather than a claim of completed realization. It defines what should be built, why it is scientifically interesting, what would count as success or failure, and how present-day AI infrastructure can support the first experiments. Its central proposal is simple: make the architecture of knowing an engineering variable, then use controlled cognitive difference as an instrument for discovering both variation and invariance.
