Stenosis and pulmonary flow grade model predicts target vessel re-intervention post-BPA with 0.81 AUC.
Effect estimate: AUC 0.81
Commentary highlights predictors of repeat balloon pulmonary angioplasty in chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension, indicating re-intervention reflects intentional staging rather than failure.

Nezami et al. (2026) conducted an editorial in inoperable chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (n=62). Balloon pulmonary angioplasty was evaluated on Target vessel re-intervention (AUC 0.81). A prediction model using percent diameter stenosis and baseline pulmonary flow grade predicted target vessel re-intervention after balloon pulmonary angioplasty with an area under the curve of 0.81.
