Key result
Glucagonoma resection reverses severe dilated cardiomyopathy, normalizing heart size and function from 15% LVEF.
Why the study?
An association between dilated cardiomyopathy and glucagonoma has not previously been described.

Hypothesis-generating for glucagonoma as reversible cardiomyopathy cause; prospective studies needed before screening consideration.
Case Report (n=1)
Glucagonoma is a rare but reversible cause of tachycardia and dilated cardiomyopathy that resolves upon tumor resection.
K Chang-Chretien (2004) conducted a case report in Dilated cardiomyopathy associated with glucagonoma (n=1). Tumour resection was evaluated on Heart rate, size, and function. Resection of a glucagonoma in a 54-year-old woman with severe dilated cardiomyopathy (ejection fraction 15%) and tachycardia led to normalization of heart rate, size, and function.
