: Taken together, these findings suggest that HES may inhibit NET formation in a ROS/autophagy-dependent manner and switch neutrophil death from NETosis to apoptosis, which reduced NETs-related intestinal barrier damage, providing a novel protective role in intestinal barrier dysfunction during sepsis.
