All rights reserved Abstract: Rhabdomyolysis is a serious, potentially life-threatening complication diagnosed when creatine phosphokinase levels exceed 1000 U/L. Although many drugs are associated with rhabdomyolysis, the previous reports of trimethoprim–sulfamethoxazole (TMP/SMX)-induced rhabdomyolysis have involved patients with human immunodeficiency virus/acquired immunodeficiency syndrome. This is the first report, to our knowledge, of TMP/SMX-induced rhabdomyolysis in an allogeneic stem cell transplant patient.
