Millions of patients now wear soft contact lenses made by various manufacturers from a variety of materials. Clinically important parameters of these soft contact lenses can be efficiently measured with a new instrument designed for this purpose. We used this instrument to measure the diameter, base curve, and center thickness of various soft contact lenses. Our results show that this contact lens dimension analyzer is a practical instrument with excellent precision. We have used the instrument successfully for the past three years to measure and verify the dimensions of soft contact lenses.
