Present investigation includes the quantitative estimation of carbohydrate metabolism i.e., total glycogen, pyruvate, lactic acid, lactate dehydrogenase, malate dehydrogenase, phosphotases activity in cestode species of Gallus gallus domesticus. The carbohydrate metabolism activity were observed in the intestinal parasites Cotugnia digonopora (Pasquale, 1890) were capable of extracting nutrient material from their host and thus represented high level in carbohydrate metabolism. The significance of various amount of pyruvate in anaerobic intestinal parasites and various factors of its role was also discussed.
