This work proposes new techniques of introducing mercury and tellurium precursors within the hot injection synthesis method for obtaining HgTe colloidal quantum dots with a narrow particle size distribution. The structure and morphology of the obtained quantum dots were studied using high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM). Optical properties were studied by Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. From the most optimal colloidal quantum dot samples photoresistors were fabricated by spin-coating, their photosensing characteristics were investigated.
