Lipoma is one of the rarer types of discrete brain tumor. The recent accidental finding of such a tumor led to a review of this subject and to the reporting of this case in order to determine if possible its mode of origin, and to point out the known features of such tumors within the cranial cavity. A comprehensive review of this subject by P. Verga appeared in the Italian literature in 1929.
