Uniformly moving domain walls in a tightly coupled and linearly damped double sine-Gordon chain are described analytically. The linear stability of these solitary waves is proven. The only localized modes found are (i) the Goldstone mode, related to the translation symmetry and (ii) a smooth relaxation mode, related to the inertia of the chain. Consequences for A₂BX₄-type ferroelectric crystals are discussed.
