The anisotropy of the high-field susceptibility and the domain structure are investigated in the cases of an undeformed and a plastically deformed (shear strain a = 0.10 and 0.38) iron single crystal. The influence of deformation on the high-field susceptibility and on the domain pattern is calculated within the framework of micromagnetism for different types and arrangements of dislocations. In State I of the deformation curve the densities of the dislocations of the secondary, conjugated, and coplanar glide system are comparable with that ones of the primary glide system and are calculated to Ns ≈ 2 × 109 and Np ≈ 3 × 109 cm−2. At higher degrees of deformation (Stage III) a comparison between theory and experimental results for the higher field susceptibility shows that the dislocations are present as groups of about 16 dislocations which are arranged in layers parallel to the primary plane.
