The results of studies on the quenching effects of H/sub 2/O and CO/sub 2/ at levels of interest in exhaust gas analyses are presented. The use of a semipermeable membrane type dryer as a means of removing the water interference has also been evaluated using moist mixtures of a) NO in nitrogen, b) NO/sub 2/ in air, and c) actual exhaust samples.
