Youth today have more hearing loss than their parents did at the same age and studies show that the prevalence of NIHL in young adults is increasing at a fast pace. Even though evidence shows that adolescents and young adults are exposed to hazardous levels of noise, no standards exist to regulate nonoccupational noise exposure. Education is the key to prevention, but adoption of guidelines is equally important. References Boguch, I. I., House, R. A., & Kudla, I. (2005).
