The volatiles isolated from the leaves and flowers of Inula viscosa (L.) Ait. were studied by means of GC and GC-MS. The oil obtained by hydrodistillation was shown contain borneol (25.2%), bornyl acetate (19.5%) and isobornyl acetate (22.5%) as major constituents, whereas that isolated first by hexane extraction followed by hydrodistillation contained borneol (20.8%), bornyl acetate (48.7%) as main components and a small amount of isobornyl acetate (0.3%).
