We consider the characteristics of `Information Age' organizations – organizations that are structured to operate effectively in dynamic, information-rich environments. Using survey data collected from a large-scale world-wide sample of business units in the computer and electronics industry, we quantify these characteristics and relate them to market success. We also show that the relationship between `Information Age' organizational characteristics and business performance is stronger in industry segments that are more dynamic.
