A layerwise shear deformation theory for composite laminated plates is discretized using multiquadrics. This new type of meshless method considers radial basis functions as the approximation method for both the differential governing equations and the boundary conditions. The combination of this layerwise theory and the multiquadrics discretization method allows a very accurate prediction of the field variables. Laminated composite and sandwich plates are analyzed.
