Abstract

Obesity and type 2 diabetes now coexist with IBD. Beyond glucose and weight effects, GLP-1 receptor agonists reduce MACE and lower systemic inflammatory biomarkers. Observational IBD data suggest acceptable safety and fewer hospitalisations and surgeries, warranting carefully designed prospective trials.
