Fluorescence quantum yields and lifetimes have been measured as a function of temperature for anthracene and 9,10-dichloroanthracene in hexane and ethanol. It was found that the radiative transition probabilities are very slightly temperature dependent. However, for the nonradiative processes, 9,10-dichloroanthracene shows a strong temperature dependence, whereas anthracene shows none.
