The plastic zone around the fatigue crack in copper single crystals was studied by means of transmission electron microscopy and x-ray topography. These methods made it possible t o observe dislocation sub-structure typical for the plastic zone as well as to determine the shape and size of the plastic zone and their depondence on tho crack length.
