This paper establishes a fixed point result on fuzzy metric spaces for the mappings satisfying contractive conditions involving an Archimedean t -conorm. Our results extend and generalize the famous Banach contraction principle and a recent result on fuzzy metric spaces. We show that our fixed point results are applicable to establish the existence of a unique solution (response) to the initial value problem that occurs in the study of parallel RLC circuits.
