Colletotrichum species are distributed worldwide and have been reported as plant pathogens, saprophytes, endophytes, human pathogens, and insect pathogens. In this study, four strains of Colletotrichum were isolated from symptomatic leaves of Michelia × alba and Myristica fragrans , which were collected in Hainan Province, China. Based on morphological examination and multilocus phylogenetic analyses of a combined ACT, CHS-1, GAPDH, HIS3, ITS, and TUB2 dataset, two new species were identified in the C. gigasporum species complex and are described herein as C. micheliae and C. myristicae spp. nov . These new species were compared with other Colletotrichum species, and comprehensive descriptions and micrographs are provided.
