Among her contemporaries, she is more enthusiastic in the portrayal of the contemporary events and incidents with microscopic observations. Almost all the novels of Githa Hariharan – The Thousand Faces of Night, When Dreams Travel, In Time of Siege, The Ghost of Vasu Master, Fugitive Histories, I Have Become the Tide, etc. are wonderful in creating a unique kind of initiative in terms of social documentation in Indian English writing.
