Girl born July 28, 1970. Weight at birth 3·100 kg. Normal pregnancy and delivery. At birth a cardiac murmur was observed, and when three months she developed progressive cardiac failure. At the age of ten months she was admitted to the department of paediatric cardiology. Clinical examination revealed a small girl of only 5·150 kg. A moderately large VSD was found. The radiograph of the thorax showed cardiac enlargement and very extensive calcifications of the laryngeal and tracheal cartilage. Subsequent radiographs, the last one at the age of three years, showed no regression of the calcification. At the same occasion her parents and her healthy brother were examined too. No calcification could be visualized.
