Electron spectroscopy for chemical analyses (ESCA) was used to determine the percentage composition of cotton/polyester blend fabrics. The ratio of the C 1s /O 1s signal strengths was directly related to the composition of the blend. Additionally C 1a and O 1a peak shapes and full widths at half height varied as the amount of cotton in the blend changed.
