One new succinic acid derivative, succinacid A (1), and a natural product, (E)-2-butylidene-3-methylenesuccinic acid (2), together with seven known compounds (3–9), were isolated from the marine-derived fungus Aspergillus chevalieri. Their structures were established by spectroscopic analysis, and the absolute configurations were unambiguously assigned via electronic circular dichroism (ECD) spectroscopy and X-ray crystallography. Compound 8 showed antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus anthracis, and Salmonella Paratyphi B, with MIC values of 16 μg/mL, and displayed potent activity against B. subtilis (MIC = 2 μg/mL). Meanwhile, compound 9 exhibited antifungal activity against Corynespora cassiicola and Cerotocystis paradoxa, with MIC values of 16 μg/mL for both.
