Empirical antitubercular therapy completely reverses constrictive pericarditis, obviating the need for surgical pericardiectomy.
Why the study?
The comparative efficacy and safety of catheter ablation versus antiarrhythmic therapy for atrial fibrillation in randomized controlled trials was evaluated.
Does catheter ablation improve freedom from recurrent atrial arrhythmia compared to antiarrhythmic therapy in adults with atrial fibrillation?
Case Report (n=1)
No
Does catheter ablation improve freedom from recurrent atrial arrhythmia compared to antiarrhythmic therapy in adults with atrial fibrillation?
Catheter ablation significantly improves freedom from recurrent atrial arrhythmias compared to antiarrhythmic therapy in adults with atrial fibrillation.

Riyaz et al. (2024) conducted a case report in Constrictive pericarditis (n=1). Empirical antitubercular therapy (ATT) was evaluated on Symptomatic improvement and resolution of constrictive physiology. Empirical antitubercular therapy resulted in complete symptomatic and echocardiographic reversal of constrictive pericarditis, obviating the need for surgical pericardiectomy.
