The albumin and globulin fractions of the seeds of Brassica campestris, B. oleracea, and B. nigra have been investigated using serological methods and separa tion by acrylamide gel electrophoresis in order to determine the usefulness of these techniques for taxonomic studies of the genus Brassica. The results of the protein analysis given in this paper agree with established taxonomy and suggest that both methods may prove useful in various taxonomic problems in the genus Brassica.
