The temperature-dependent increase in alkaline phosphatase activity in reconstituted sera was studied. For ‘Seronorm’R stable levels were reached after 48 hours at + 20 °C or after 6 hours at + 37 °C. These levels were unchanged after one week's frozen preservation followed by thawing and storage at + 20 °C for 24 hours. A practical procedure for stabilizing alkaline phosphatase in lyophilized sera is described.
