Recently, supercapacitors (SCs) have been anticipated as stand-alone or supplemental devices in innovative renewable energy applications, such as electrochemical batteries. On account of it, this research work focused on MnCo 2 O 4 /Co 3 O 4 as electrode material for advanced SCs applications. One-pot solid solution decomposition technique was adopted to synthesize nanocomposite by varying the ratios of Mn (0, 5, 10, 15 wt%) with Co 3 O 4 ( CO, MCO5, MCO10, MCO15). The structural and morphological information of the nanocomposites have been investigated by X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Fourier-Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR), Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) analysis, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) techniques. Phase homogeneity of the samples with a substantial spinel-type crystal structure is revealed by X-ray diffraction examinations. Further, the electrochemical measurements in three electrode system explored synergistic effect between MnCo 2 O 4 and Co 3 O 4 exceptional performance ascribing the impact of MnCo 2 O 4 present in it. In light from GCD profile, MCO10 achieves a remarkable specific capacity of 352.2 C g −1 at a higher current density of 10 A g −1 in 6 M KOH electrolyte solution with a long term stability of 93% even after 2000 cycles at 50 A g −1 . Further, the assembled asymmetric device displays a specific capacity of 25.81 C g −1 with energy density of 8.13 Wh kg −1 and power density of 1158 W kg −1 . Given the aforementioned findings, the as-synthesized nanocomposites exhibit exceptional electrochemical performance, paving the way for the occurrence of a new group of energy storage devices in SCs applications.
