Mixed‐field polyagglutination of red blood cells caused by the presence of the determinant Tn can be distinguished from other causes of polyagglutination such as T and Cad [Sd(a ++)] by tests with four plant hemagglutinins—Doliches biflorus, Arachis hypogaea, Salvia sclarea, and Salvia horminum. Inhibition of the reactions of Tn cells with Dolichos biflorus and Salvia horminum when the cells are pretreated with papain and negative reactions of Tn cells with sera from other known cases lend support to the diagnosis.
