Collections of Culiseta morsitans adults were made from 3 sites in and near a breeding swamp between 1977 and 1979. Data indicated that Cs. morsitans was univoltine, commonly survived 8–12 weeks and was strongly ornithophilic. Populations were moderate in size and present from mid-May to early September and had parous rates above 75% during the last ½ of each season. Its vector potential parallels that of Culiseta melanura.
