Contribution to the Knowledge of the Electrochemistry of Uranium in Molten LiCl‐KCl Eutectic: I. The redox potential of the couple U(IV)/U(III)

Careful measurements of the redox potential of the system U(IV)/U(III) in molten LiCl‐KCl eutectic have been carried out in glove‐boxes with dry and inert atmosphere. The cell used was the following: magnified image whose e.m.f. have been measured by a high impedance electronic voltmeter. Our efforts have been directed to prevent even the slightest oxidation of the Uranium species involved in the measurements.
